c) Any brake system must have a valid CIK – FIA homologation.
On their bulletin #39, the CIK-FIA modified the regulation regarding the brakes:
Extract of CIK-FIA bulletin # 39
As from 1st January 2015, brake discs must be mandatorily be made from steel, stainless steel or cast iron. This also applies to homologations that are currently valid.
Therefore, any brake discs which do not comply with this regulation are not allowed. We are aware that there are chassis in the market with brake systems that are currently homologated with non-complying discs. In the interest of possible part shortages and to avoid any undue hardships to make this change, this change per CIK-FIA bulletin #39 will be enforced as of July 1, 2015 for all USRMC events. In the meantime, any brake system with a 2014 CIK-FIA homologation will be considered as valid.
Despite this additional time allowed, we strongly suggest to proceed with these changes as soon as possible.
