So-Cal Rotax Challenge to Make History This Weekend

New era in United States Rotax Max Challenge racing begins in Southern California

Racers have a chance to be part of history this weekend as the inaugural So-Cal Rotax Challenge event will take place at the CalSpeedKartingCenter in Fontana, California. The March 9 event will serve as the opening round of the eight-race championship series, with is an official United States Rotax Max Challenge program for 2014 and beyond. The support from many regional race teams and shops has helped get the So-Cal Rotax Challenge program off the ground, and now the competition begins as racers work toward reaching the 2014 United States Rotax Grand Nationals. Racers who take part in the seven US Rotax Max Challenge categories at the So-Cal Rotax Challenge will earn ‘punches’ toward entry into the 2014 United States Rotax Grand Nationals at Miller Motorsports Park on July 17-20 in Tooele, Utah.

“I am excited to start the new era of Rotax racing in Southern California with the So-Cal Rotax Challenge,” stated series promoter Andy Seesemann. “While most know me as the promoter of the international Rotax Challenge of the Americas program, I got my start promoting races with the original Gatorz Karting Cup about 10 years ago. We built that program from nothing into a 90-driver series in just six classes. I hope to do the same with the So-Cal Rotax Challenge. This program is going to be more like a club or a light regional program, with the focus on having fun, without all of the drama.”

Eight karting companies have stepped up as class sponsors to offer their support of the So-Cal Rotax program for the inaugural 2014 season, all authorized Arrive-and-Drive vendors for series events.
