2009 United States RMC Class Structure: The class structure for the 2009 United States Rotax Challenge is now set. The requirements for the Micro Max class, introduced in 2008, will remain without changes. For 2009 a new classification for the DD 2 class will introduce the DD 2 Masters. There is no separate class for this classification but DD 2 class members can designate themselves as Masters for recognition.
At the 2009 Rotax Grand Nationals the top 3 finishers classified as Masters drivers will be recognized. For the 2009 Rotax National Points the Masters classified drivers will also be recognized separately. Micro Max-----Age 7 to 10-----235 lbs. minimum - Engine Resource Page
MiniMax-----Age 9 to 12-----265 lbs. minimum - Engine Resource Page
Junior*-----Age 13 to 16-----320 lbs. minimum - Engine Resource Page
Senior Max-----Age 15 & up-----365 lbs. minimum - Engine Resource Page
Master-----Age 16 & up-----405 lbs. minimum- Engine Resource Page
DD-2-----Age 15 & up-----385 lbs. minimum- Engine Resource Page
*DD2 Masters: DD2 drivers reaching the age of 32 by October 31, 2009 may declare to be recognized as a DD 2 Master. At the USRKC Grand Nationals and for USRKC National Points the top masters drivers will be recognized separately. All DD2 drivers will compete together, there will not be a separate class for DD 2 Masters.
