About MAXSpeed Group

The MAXSpeed Group was established on January 1st 2011 and is the sole company for the distribution of all Rotax Karting Products throughout the United States and Caribbean. This new company is a collaboration of three successful businessmen composed of Michel Boisclair, the first North American Distributor of ROTAX MAX engines beginning in 1999 (SRA group), Garry Lobaugh of Three Oaks, Michigan who joined as one of the first ROTAX dealers in the U.S. over ten years ago and Richard Boisclair, professional business manager and distribution expert.

BRP Powertrain GmbH & Co KG also announced the appointment of MAXSpeed Group as the operator of the ROTAX MAX Challenge United States and ROTAX MAX Pan-American Challenge on January 1st, 2011.

In the first year the company made little changes to the previous structure and instead tightened up the internal structure by hiring a new team of highly motivated and focused individuals. With this new team of employees, along with the hard work of the MAXSpeed Group Owners, MAXSpeed Group was nominated Distributor of the year for 2011. The new company is always striving to improve and increase the awareness of karting. As such, in 2012 they were again bestowed with the Distributor of the Year title for the second year in a row.

Garett Potter
Race Promotion Director

Garett Potter comes to us with over 25 years of racing experience. He caught the karting bug in 1999 after switching from two wheels - AMA Super Bike - to four with the thought that he could still race his heart out on the weekends and still make it to work on Monday morning. Over the past sixteen years he has participated in every aspect of the karting industry from racing, coaching young drivers, officiating and promoting the sport, as well as spending the last 10 years on the business side helping build racing programs and operating two of the largest race complexes in North America, Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah and NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana, where his responsibilities included track design, race series and track management. NOLA was also the home to the 2013 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in the first ever event in the United States. This three-year project resulted in a huge payoff, reported as being the best Grand Finals in history. Garett spends his off time with his new project: trying to keep up with his two year old son, who he hopes one day will share the same love of motorsports.
