GoRotax, a division of the MAXSpeed Group, came into existence on January 1st, 2011, and stands as the exclusive entity responsible for the distribution of Rotax Karting Products throughout the United States and Caribbean. This venture was forged through the combined efforts of three accomplished entrepreneurs: Michel Boisclair, who blazed a trail as the initial North American Distributor of ROTAX MAX engines back in 1999 under the SRA group; Garry Lobaugh, hailing from Three Oaks, Michigan, who joined the ranks as one of the pioneering ROTAX dealers in the U.S. over a decade ago; and Richard Boisclair, a seasoned business manager and distribution expert.
On January 1st, 2011, BRP Powertrain GmbH & Co KG also entrusted MAXSpeed Group with the operation of the ROTAX MAX Challenge United States and ROTAX MAX Pan-American Challenge.
In its inaugural year, GoRotax concentrated on streamlining its internal operations, bolstering its workforce with a cadre of highly motivated and dedicated professionals. This strategic move, coupled with the unwavering dedication of MAXSpeed Group Owners, led to GoRotax’s recognition as the Distributor of the Year for 2011. This commitment to excellence persisted, and in 2012, they once again clinched the prestigious Distributor of the Year title for the second consecutive year. GoRotax continues to be steadfast in its mission to enhance and elevate the profile of karting in the region.
